Overview
Engine room wiring runs hotter, oilier, and more corrosive than any other space on a vessel. This harness line uses higher-temperature insulation and sealed junctions specifically for that environment, rather than a general marine cable pulled into a hot space.

Design & Construction
Heat & Oil Resistant Conductors
Conductors use tinned copper with marine-grade XLPE insulation rated to 125°C, resistant to the oil exposure and elevated ambient temperature typical of an engine room installation.
Sealed Junction & Distribution Blocks
Junction and distribution points are sealed to IP67 with corrosion-resistant hardware, reducing the risk of moisture and oil vapor intrusion at connection points over years of service.
Manufacturing Process
Built under our ISO 9001 quality system with the same DNV GL-approved construction practice used across our Marine Division, and 100% continuity testing before shipment.

Typical Applications
- Engine room power distribution
- Generator interconnects
- Bilge and ballast pump power wiring
- Engine control system wiring
- Alternator and starter cabling
Common installations include Engine room power distribution, Generator interconnects, and Bilge and ballast pump power wiring, where corrosion resistance and sealed, submersible-rated protection against saltwater exposure are the primary design drivers. The same base design can also be adapted for Engine control system wiring and Alternator and starter cabling with minor changes to connector type or cable length.
Technical Specifications
Standard configurations are available with the following technical specifications; custom configurations outside these ranges can be discussed with our engineering team. Wire Gauge: AWG 16 – 4. Conductor Count: 2 – 24 power circuits. Insulation: Marine-grade XLPE, oil and heat resistant. Temp Range: -30°C to +125°C. IP Rating: IP67 (sealed junctions). Corrosion Protection: Tinned copper conductors. Standard: Built to IEC 60092 marine cable practice.
Quality & Certification
Manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certification, built to IEC 60092 marine cable practice, with DNV GL-approved constructions available for classed vessels.
Customization & Lead Time
Standard lead time for the Marine Engine Room Power Distribution Harness is 5–7 weeks prototype, 3–4 weeks production. Connector type, cable length, and conductor configuration can be customized to match your exact application, including connector sealing rating, cable length, and shielding to match your vessel’s specific installation requirements. Contact our engineering team with your drawings or requirements for a project-specific quote.
Why XinHarness
Engine room harnesses share the corrosion-resistant material standards used across our broader Marine Division work. See the Marine industry page, or request a quote for your project.
