IP68 Marine-Grade Wiring Harness Assemblies

ISO 9001 DNV GL Approved

Overview

Marine wiring harnesses specify corrosion-resistant materials and DNV GL-approved constructions as a starting point, not an option, since a harness on a vessel or offshore platform is expected to run for decades without a wiring failure.

Design & Construction

Corrosion-Resistant Conductors

Conductors use tinned copper strands rather than bare copper, with marine-grade PVC or XLPE insulation resistant to UV exposure and salt-fog conditions per IEC 60092 marine cable practice.

Sealed Connector Interfaces

Connector cavities are dielectric grease-filled and sealed to IP68 for submersible or deck-exposed locations, with heat-shrink boots at cable entry points to prevent moisture wicking into the harness.

Manufacturing Process

Assemblies are built under our ISO 9001 quality system with DNV GL type-approved constructions available on request, and 100% continuity and insulation-resistance testing before shipment.

Typical Applications

  • Shipboard power and lighting distribution
  • Offshore platform instrumentation wiring
  • Marine engine room cabling
  • Deck equipment and winch control harnesses
  • Bilge pump and sensor wiring

Common installations include Shipboard power and lighting distribution, Offshore platform instrumentation wiring, and Marine engine room cabling, where corrosion resistance and sealed, submersible-rated protection against saltwater exposure are the primary design drivers. The same base design can also be adapted for Deck equipment and winch control harnesses and Bilge pump and sensor wiring with minor changes to connector type or cable length.

Technical Specifications

Standard configurations are available with the following technical specifications; custom configurations outside these ranges can be discussed with our engineering team. Wire Gauge: AWG 22 – 8 (tinned copper). Conductor Count: 2 – 48 circuits. Insulation: Marine-grade PVC/XLPE, UV and salt-fog resistant. Temp Range: -30°C to +105°C. IP Rating: IP68 (submersible connector zones). Corrosion Protection: Tinned copper, grease-filled connectors. Standard: Built to IEC 60092 marine cable practice.

Quality & Certification

Manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certification, tested to ASTM B117 salt-fog exposure, and built to IEC 60092 marine cable practice, with DNV GL-approved constructions available for classed vessels.

Customization & Lead Time

Standard lead time for the IP68 Marine-Grade Wiring Harness Assemblies is 5–7 weeks prototype, 3–4 weeks production. Connector type, cable length, and conductor configuration can be customized to match your exact application, including connector sealing rating, cable length, and shielding to match your vessel’s specific installation requirements. Contact our engineering team with your drawings or requirements for a project-specific quote.
